Microscope in laboratory

Establishment of the State‑of‑the‑Art Laboratory and Research Centre: Kazire Health Products Limited is embarking on a strategic initiative to establish a state‑of‑the‑art WHO‑GMP certified pharmaceutical Quality Control Laboratory that will significantly enhance the credibility of Uganda’s herbal drugs on the international stage.

This advanced laboratory will serve as a national asset, dramatically reducing Uganda's reliance on foreign labs and fuelling local drug innovation. The facility will be equipped for cutting‑edge scientific processes, encompassing Analytical Chemistry with instruments like High‑Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC) and UV‑Vis Spectrophotometry, with future integration of Mass Spectrometry. It will enforce stringent quality standards through Microbiology and Contamination Control, including sterility testing and microbial load assessment. Furthermore, the lab will perform crucial pre‑clinical evaluations, such as Toxicological and Pharmacological Studies following OECD guidelines, alongside comprehensive Formulation and Stability Testing under ICH conditions for shelf‑life prediction. The entire project requires constructing an expanded building, procuring sophisticated equipment, securing local and international certifications, and is committed to extensive Capacity Building, including the training and empowerment of 50+ local scientists and forging collaborations with both local and international scientific institutions.
